About the project

  • A five-part series following four Iranian-Canadian musical artists of all genres as they create their brand-new demo tracks, sampling music from renowned traditional Iranian folk band. Filming takes place in Ottawa, Ontario from Monday August 4 to Monday August 11.

  • Battling the threat of elimination, contestants will work with a renowned producer to create a demo track, get top-tier mentorship from industry experts, revamp their personal brand, and perform to live audiences—all to impress the judges, established artists who will evaluate every aspect of their work.

  • In collaboration with Bell Fibe TV1, ‘Persian Pitch’ is created and directed by Nickie Shobeiry, a second-gen Iranian, award-winning documentary filmmaker (Bell/CBC) and freelance journalist (Shondaland, Globe & Mail, CBC).

We want to be real with you.

Due to limited community programming budgets, we are unable to offer financial compensation for selected contestants' involvement in the docu-series; while hotel costs will be covered, all other expenses, including travel, must be covered by the artists themselves.

If this means you can’t swing it, we understand. If you can, know that we’re going to do everything we can to make this experience meaningful, collaborative, and creatively fulfilling.

In the future, we hope to keep building momentum toward bigger budgets and broader opportunities for everyone involved.
